Supporting the U S Coast Guard Academy Corps of Cadets, the Coastie Cadet Parents fund is established by the CGAPA Lone Star Chapter, a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit association comprised primarily of cadet parents and U.S. Coast Guard Academy alumni. Our activities are guided by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Mission Statement.

Cadets at the Coast Guard Academy are active duty members of the Coast Guard with a rank of cadet. Those who successfully complete the four year program will receive a B.S. degree and be commissioned as an active duty Ensign in the United States Coast Guard immediately upon graduation.

Use of funds raised by CGAPA Lone Star Chapter typically include: (1) helping to defray the cost of equipment or transportation for the cadets’ non-military activities, clubs, sports, Model UN, etc; (2) hosting local area "Welcome aboard’" events to provide orientation for newly appointed cadets and their familes; and (3) assisting with the joint uniformed service academies holiday balls that are held in various locations throughout the United States.
